Silicon Web Costumer's Guild

Organization

Officer Responsibilities

The official roles and responsibilities are listed in the Bylaws. This is a "practical summary" of those roles.

President: Chief executor of the Chapter's business. It is the President's responsibility to shepherd discussions on the SiliconWeb Yahoo! group as the web group is our chapter's virtual meeting place.

Vice President: Assistant to the President and the one who carries out the president's duties when needed. The vice president is the Chapter's representative in the ICG-BOD meetings and acts as a communication bridge between the ICG and the Chapter's members and may vote in the ICG meetings representing the Chapter, including the voting of the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Recording and Corresponding Secretary: Responsible for maintenance of the Chapter's records, and chapter roster. Responds to inquiries sent to the Chapter. Is responsible for the monthly update report to the ICG Treasurer and for annual reports to the ICG Board of Directors and to the ICG Secretary related to ICG Standing Rules 7 and 14, respectively.

In practical terms, this office works with the webmaster and the treasurer to maintain membership record, both for ICG reporting and website update purposes. The secretary also welcomes new members and reminds members whose membership are up for renewal via email.

Treasurer: Maintains the Chapter's financial records, receives funds and deposits them into the Chapter's accounts, reports all dues payments to the Secretary, and pays all bills.

Our primary source of income is the membership dues, and the primary expense has been dues payable to the ICG. The Treasurer makes a membership report to the ICG Treasurer per ICG requirements.

There are also a few non-elected volunteer jobs:

Virtual Costumer Editor: publishes The Virtual Costumer, our Chapter's main publication, in a timely manner.

Web Master: Responsible for maintaining the Chapter's web site.

Web Site Technical Contact: Gets called when things break.
