The Silicon Web Costumers' Guild (SiW) is a non-profit, educational organization for those who are interested in costumes and costuming. Our members include historic reenactors, professional, educational and community theatrical costumers, science fiction fans, renaissance festival participants, and a vast array of others who are interested in the making, wearing and display of costume.

We are a "virtual" community whose members interact using Internet technologies, including this web site, an online costuming magazine, newsgroups, email, webinars and other social networking.

SiW became a chapter of the International Costumers' Guild (ICG) on April 4, 2003. The ICG is, an international organization that brings hobbyist and professional costumers from around the world together, and fosters, through its local chapters, educational and social costume events.

The Silicon Web Costumers' Guild has the following purposes:

• To be a supportive and fully participating chapter of the International Costumers' Guild.
• To be an educational organization to foster interest in costuming in all its forms.
• To be and maintain a quality group utilizing the resources of the Internet to extend communication and participation beyond geographic boundaries.
